It’s a much needed, and in most cases often overlooked part of a typical system administrators job. I work with a number of system administrators on a daily basis as part of my consulting. It’s interesting to note that the type of operating system in use often has a profound effect on the priority of patching it, especially in a heterogeneous or “mixed OS” network.
